It all Started at the Lemonade Stand

Do you remember when you were a kid and you started your very first business venture? For most budding entrepreneurs, it was the classic lemonade stand. Everything you wanted to know about running a business can be learned by opening up and running a lemonade stand. A lemonade stand breaks down business concepts to a very basic level: you have a table with your goods on it, a sign, and a lot of grit. You are open for business. But add to that your start up budget, a business plan, some advertising, and pretty soon, an enterprising kid is learning the skill sets needed to be a successful Entrepreneur: the emotional skills in dealing with customers, self confidence in running a business, and the true grit that it takes to manage your way through a successful enterprise:

  3. Diversification can kill you
  4. Marketing & Advertising are necessary
  5. Don’t be shy with People
  6. Talk about the things your customers understand
  7. Have an end-game in mind
